March 2012 Song Sharing Session

This month's session will open with a segment on critical listening as a tool for songwriting:  we will listen to a favorite tune and break it down along various axes (melody, rhythm, harmony, lyrics, form, arrangement, etc.) to identify the elements which make the song appealing.  E-mail Tres Seaver if you'd like to bring in a song for the group to work with in an upcoming meeting.

The main part of this meeting will be a song-sharing session:  bring your notebooks, your pens, and your instruments!  For those who write using a keyboard, we will have one available.  We may also add a short period of co-writing using a more-or-less random song prompt.
